I just received bodywork from Joshua and it was great. I had been experiencing pain in my left shoulder and in my lower back down my leg. I noticed a difference right away and my symptoms continued to improve. He specializes in an Asian deep tissue massage that works along the meridian lines. Don’t be scared off by the term deep tissue. He will work with you to keep the pressure just right so that it is tolerable and feels so much better afterwards.

An oasis in the Wollaston section of Quincy. Located on the second floor you are above the hustle and bustle below. Wonderful variety of yoga classes with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. The best deep tissue massage anywhere is given by Joshua who trained in Hawaii. Ask for the Asian/Pacific massage….you’ll be happy that you did. They also have a 6 week yoga adventure for children 3-7 yrs old with an incredible instructor. All in all Healing Tree rocks.

I haven’t taken one of their yoga classes yet, but I have received two massages there. I had a regular Swiss and a deep tissue massage. Both were equally fabulous. I especially like the large massage room. Usually, the massage suites are like tiny rooms originally designed for a dentist chair. Here, it is very open, well designed. It feels a little New Age when you go in, partly because Healing Tree is, afterall, a yoga studio, but it not an intimidating place at all like some other spas. The staff were friendly, the massages were good, room temp. was fine…nothing to complain about…best of all, plenty of parking and right in Quincy!

Healing Tree Yoga is truly a place where anyone can go for amazing classes and healing treatments. I practice daily and respect each of my teachers for their nurturing class environments and providing personalized attention when needed. The teachers have a variety of training and backgrounds, and I enjoy the different styles of yoga that Healing Tree offers (hatha, kripalu, vinyasa, gentle, restorative, ashtanga, anusara).
In addition to yoga classes, Kathy’s Pilates classes are very effective at sculpting and toning my body, and Rebecca leads a peaceful and insightful meditation class.
I’ve also had multiple Reiki sessions with Kathy and Pacific and Asian Restorative Therapies with Joshua. Both are incredible treatments that I highly recommend.
Their schedule accommodates people who work long hours (early morning and late evening classes are offered, in addition to weekends), and the community of the members is one-of-a-kind.
Healing Tree Yoga is my second home, and I encourage anyone who is reading this to try a few classes and schedule body treatments.

I am halfway through the Unlimited classes Summer special and man I am loving it!! I have tried most of the instructors and really like how they all bring something different to my practice. My favorite instructor is Kathy, who I believe to be some kind of Earth Angel! In addition to her pleasant and comfortable demeanor, she has Amazing body awareness and offers great help to come deeper and become more aligned in the poses. The other instructors are great too, I like Siri for a practice that’s twisty and flowy, Michelle and Jill when I feel like pushing it to the next level, Laura for a healing experience and Rebecca for a great Kripalu class. I’ve tried Matt’s Ahstanga class once: bare bones yoga practice when for a good workout and like to drop in every once in a while to Mary’s Gentle Restorative to just lay supported for an hour. The studio is bright with beautiful wood floors, but a little tight some days. The mats are free and good quality. All in all I am so happy to find this gem right around my corner!

I’ve been many many times now and I love it. I’ve had a few different Hatha classes with different instructors and it’s all wonderful. I like that we do variations of the same positions, it keeps it fresh. And I love how Kathy gives detailed instruction on how to position yourself, her patient instruction has really improved my practice. and it’s true – there is a shower in the bathroom, I’ve also filled my water bottle from the sink and the tap water tastes just fine. 🙂
