Maryanne Chow

Maryanne started her yoga journey in 2011.  She remembers stepping into her first yoga class and feeling intimated because she wasn’t as flexible she thought she should be for yoga. But as she made it through her first few classes, it wasn’t as bad as she thought.  She learned that yoga isn’t about being flexible in your body, but more importantly, it’s about the flexibility of your mind. Over the years, she’s grown to integrate more yoga and mindfulness practice into her lifestyle as well as be connected to a wonderful yoga community at Healing Tree Yoga. Teaching was really not in her vision because she didn’t think it was for her. But when the opportunity came at the right place and the right time, she decided to take a teacher training with the intention to dive deeper into her practice and learn more about yoga philosophy and yoga anatomy.  She was lucky enough to be trained by one of the best, Jacqui Bonwell, at Sacred Seed Yoga School to achieve her RTY 200. To further her skillset, she also received training for Yin Yoga, meditation, Soulful Yoga Therapy, and kids’ yoga.

Outside of yoga, Maryanne is a social worker working with children and families.  And so, her yoga background really gives her the ability to provide a holistic practice on how she works with her clients. And outside of both yoga and work, she is a big foodie and she LOVES to travel!
